Cochin Sightseeing - St Francis Church, built in 1510 by friars brought to India by Vasco da Gama, is the first European church built in India and is the site where Vasco da Gama was buried. The Jewish Synagogue was built in 1568, Chinese hand-painted tiles are one of the attraction. This, the only Synagogue in India has a nostalgic past of a Jewish Diaspora. The "Dutch Palace" was built in the 1550s; the palace contains excellent mythological murals and a rare example of traditional Keralite flooring - a subtle mix of burnt coconut shells, lime, plant juices and egg whites - which gives the effect of polished marble.

Kumbalangi is a village in Cochin, 13 kms away & it is identified as the first model fisheries and tourism village in India. Experience a ride by an autorikshaw through the narrow country roads from the main road and you can see the village folk engaged in different activities for there livelihood, may be a woman in her village provision shop, a farmer in his paddy field, a fisherman spreading his net, a kid with a fishing net ....it goes on. Enjoy the dinner at the village.

Kodanad Elephant Camp & Thattekad Bird Sanctuary

By morning, proceed to Thattekad Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, one of the low altitude evergreen forests,situated by the banks of River Periyar. Enjoy your lunch at Thattekad. Day to explore the rich and varied birdlife of Thattekad.Lunch at Bird’s Lagoon,Thattekkad. Afternoon visit Kodanad Elephant Training Centre.By evening drive back to Cochin .Dinner at an authentic vegetarian restaurant in Cochin.

Thattekad Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, is one of the low altitude evergreen forest. It is a home for 280 species of birds including Grey hornbill, White-bellied tree pie, Rufous babbler, Wayanad laughing thrush, Grey headed bulbul, White-bellied blue flycatcher, Crimson-backed sunbird, Nilgiri wood pigeon, Malabar parakeet etc and a number of water birds.
Located on the shores of river Periyar, Ernakulam district, Kodanad is also the headquarters of Malayattoor forest division. This village is famous for its elephant kraal and a mini zoo. Baby elephants from nearby forests, either washed away in the floods or abandoned by herds, are brought here and domesticated. They are housed in Kraals, traditional wooden cages.Trained mahouts groom the animals and the training is quite scientific and systematic. About five babies are received every year.In olden days elephants were captured from the Malayattoor forests and domesticated here. But it is no longer a practice since the government has banned capturing of elephants.Elephant safari is another attraction here. Large number of wild life enthusiasts and tourists from around the world visit Kodanad every year.

Alleppey Houseboat with lunch & Greenix Show at Fort Cochin

Morning, after a leisurely breakfast,drive to Alleppey(90 minutes drive) to board houseboat for a lunch cruise through the Vembanad Lake.The lunch will be provided on board.After tea & snacks by 3.30 PM check out from the boat and drive to Cochin to visit Greenix Theatre for the cultural show starts at 5 45 PM till 7.45 PM.Later transfer to your hotel.

What is truly magical about a houseboat ride is the breathtaking view of the untouched and otherwise inaccessible rural Kerala that it offers. The houseboats have all the creature comforts of a good hotel including furnished bedrooms, modern toilets, cozy living rooms, a kitchen and even a balcony for angling. Meals would be cooked on board and supplemented with fresh fish from the backwaters. Today, the tradition is still continued and the food from the local cuisine is served by the Kuttanad localities, on board.

A leisurely walk through the Fort Cochin area which gives you a close look at the operation of the huge cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, low flying turns and black kites, if lucky you can spot dolphins in the estuary. Greenix Show is a fusion of various traditional dance forms & martial arts of Kerala The dances explicate ideas and stories from the Indian epics,Puranas and day to day life. The riches of a happy blending of colour, expressions, music, drama and dance are mixed in proper combination.

Culinary Session with lunch or Dinner at Cochin
