A 7 night journey through Gantok, Tsongo, Lachung, Yumthang and Darjeeling. Welcome to the Himalayas - Where Earth Meets Sky. The serene beauty of the Himalayas has lured visitors to this region since olden times. Himalayas, the world's highest mountain chain, constitutes the greatest attraction to climbers and trekkers throughout the world. But more than anything else, the Himalayas represent the awe-inspiring power, beauty, and grandeur of Nature. The feeling is a mixture of admiration, awe and fear; and for the Hindus of India, the Himalayas are also "the Abode of God". There are numerous pilgrim routes that have brought the Hindu pilgrims to these mountains since time immemorial.

One of the most visited hill-stations, Darjeeling or the Queen of Hill Stations is an old-world area, complete with rows of cottages, cobbled walkways and unforgettable views of the snow-clad Mountains. Gangtok is an upcoming hill-retreat and a centre for Buddhist learning. Several monasteries dot the entire region, and an important site in the city is the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which is a research centre for Buddhist and Tibetan cultures.The tour MYSTIC HIMALAYAS, is only a glimpse on the mighty Himalayas.this pilot tour can be clubbed with many other tours around Himalayas or other parts of India.

Program

Day 1 Bagdogra-Gangtok (121kms/4hrs):
On arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you will be met by our meet & greet team and transfer to Gangtok, Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2 Gangtok-Tsomgo Lake:
After breakfast take a trip to Tsomgo Lake, about 40kms and situated at an altitude of 12,000 ft., which remains frozen almost half of the year and an ideal habitat of red panda and other species. Also visit the Baba Mandir. Evening at leisure and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3 Gangtok-Lachung ( 117 kms /6 hrs):
After breakfast, proceed to Lachung, an idyllic valley surrounded by mist-shrouded mountains and great waterfalls. Enroute visit Tashi viewpoint, Phodong Monastery, Mangan, Singik Chungthang and Maltim. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4 Lachung-Yumthang Excursion:
After breakfast visit the Yumthang Valley located 145 km from Gangtok. North Sikkim plays a vital role in Sikkim tourism. It is called as the flower valley, replete with 500 waterfalls, hot springs, glaciers, and the majestic snow covered Himalayas. Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the yaks & winter playgrounds of yetis. On the way back visit the Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort in afternoon. Spent afternoon interacting with the local people understanding their culture. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5 Lachung- Gangtok (117kms/6hrs):
After breakfast depart (8.00 am) for Gangtok . Enroute witness the beautiful Bheema & Twin Falls. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.

Day 6 Gangtok-Darjeeling:
After breakfast, proceed on a Gangtok city tour covering- the Rumtek Monastery, on the outskirts of the town, one of Buddhism's most sacred monasteries. The monastery is the seat of the Kagyu order, one of the major Tibetan sects, and houses some of the world's most sacred and rare Tibetan Buddhist scriptures and religious objects. It is an excellent replica of the original Kagyu headquarters in Tibet. It houses some of the world's most unique art objects, ancient manuscripts and icons. Botanical Garden, Do Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show and Cottage Industry. Later transfer to Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. Evening free to explore. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7 Darjeeling:
Early morning at 4am watch the breath-taking sunrise over Tiger Hill, the highest point in the area which provides the most exotic view of the Kanchenjunga peaks. On a clear day the sight of Mt.Everest is magnificient,  visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, This railway loop is an interesting example of engineering. At this loop the toy train takes a very unique turn. After breakfast 8.30am go sight seeing, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Himalayan Zoo,Tenzing Rock, Tea Garden (outer view), Tibetan Refugee Center, Ava Art Gallery and the Japanese Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 8 Darjeeling-Bagdogra (98 kms/3 hrs):
Like all good things, your holiday experience comes to an end but you will always carry with you memories of this unique and unforgettable experience. Today, you will be assisted and transferred to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey!!
